Damco (formerly known as Maersk Logistics), a vital part of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group of companies and one of the world's leading providers of freight forwarding and supply chain management services has signed a strategic agreement with Intercontinental Institute of Human Resource Management (IIHRM) to provide its HR consultancy services in 2010.
IIHRM will initially be employed to assess the competency gaps within the Sri Lankan operations and then identify the development needs of its staff.
The contract was signed by Damco Sri Lanka Managing Director Peter West and IIHRM Managing Director Ranjeewa Kulatunga.
The partnership has entrusted the HR Consultancy House to conduct the assessment by using internationally recognised tools.
"These tools will provide the findings with more qualified support rather than just ad-hoc assessments" said Human Resources Head Damco Sri Lanka Dimashi Talwatte.
Intercontinental Institute of Human Resource Management (IIHRM) has been engaged in implementing these HR tools and technology within leading organizations both in Sri Lanka and overseas.
"We are the provider for SHL systems and tools within Sri Lanka, providing us the unique capability to both administer and distribute these online tools to our customers," said at IIHRM Recruitment and Training Services Group Manager Kumara Galhenage.
